Mary Fons is a writer/performer. She is creator of Quilty, the friendly place for beginner quilters (F+W Media). Mary hosts Quilty online (HeyQuilty.com) and is editor of Quilty magazine, available bi-monthly on newsstands everywhere. Mary co-hosts PBS’s “Love of Quilting” with her mom, Marianne Fons. The International Quilt Study Center and Museum presents “Log Condo: The Cabin Updated with Luke Haynes”  In this exciting workshop with artist Luke Haynes, participants will use non-traditional methods and materials to create a new take on the traditional Log Cabin block. Participants will de-construct and re-construct recycled clothing into yardage, which they will then turn into Log Cabin blocks. The final result will be a small Log Cabin quilt top. Don’t miss this chance to work with this rising quilt star, whose works are represented in major U.S. collections such as the Brooklyn Museum and the American Folk Art Museum.
