February Rising Stars Meeting

The subject this time is “Gadgets.” Some of us have wonderful gadgets and some of us have the “why did I buy that thing” gadgets. Actually some of us have the “what’s this for?” gadgets. Bring them to Rising Stars and we will explore the world of gadgets. We hope we will be able to resolve some of the questions and share some of the gadgets we love. Also we will have a trash bag on hand if need be. Sometimes it is best to say goodbye and have a good night sleep. See you there, all our sparkling stars. – Lynn Doyle, risingstars@omahaquiltersguild.org

Trunk Show and More by Cindy Lohbeck of Hands On Hand Dyes from Scottsdale, AZ

Cindy was raised with a passion for creativity and color. With more than 25 years experience as an interior designer, she has a love of textiles and an eye for color that is the foundation for her winning designs. She has worked as a professional faux finisher and muralist, and also owned a tie-dyed clothing business in the early years, all of which helped refine her color mixing skills. With the addition of quilting to her creative repertoire in 2002, all of her passions collided and Hands On Hand Dyes was born. Affectionately known as “The Bucket Lady”, Cindy Lohbeck’s color insight and useful tips and techniques add to the fun and fast paced nature of her classes. Cindy will be presenting a Trunk show and a casual discussion of the various kinds of hand dyed fabrics, and their application in quilting.
