The Flower Power Retreat is just one week away! Hope you're all pulling together the projects that you want to bring.
Here is the basic information that you will need for Friday: Check-in begins at 2:30 on Friday, Feb. 17. Please come to the front entrance to check in before pulling into the unloading zone. We will have carts there waiting for your use and there is an elevator to get from floor to floor. Once you have your car unloaded, please park it within the fenced area which will be locked after 11pm. Dinner Friday will be served at 6pm. Please try to be at the ARCC in time for the meal. If you cannot, please let us know in advance so that we can save you a meal.
There are 31 people coming to Spring Fling so we will once again be sewing on the main floor and the upper floor. You are free to take whatever spot you want and configure your area as best suits your needs and the needs of your group. The upper floor can accommodate between 18-20 people. The ARCC will provide one ironing board and one iron per floor. It might be helpful to have some extra ironing surfaces. If you have one that you don't mind letting others use, please consider bringing it. Remember this is an older building and they do not like us messing with the windows. It gets quite warm so dress in layers. Some people have also found it helpful to bring their own sewing chairs from home as the chairs are a bit lower than we are used to. It's up to you.
Mealtimes are Friday dinner at 6pm. Sat. breakfast at 8, lunch at noon, Sat. dinner at 6:30 to allow those who need to attend mass to go and get back in time for dinner. Sunday breakfast is at 8 and lunch is at noon.
We encourage you to bring your pillowcases from last year's retreat and to participate in the Flour Power tea towel apron exchange. Directions for the apron are on the website. Bring your apron in a plain brown bag. We'll probably do the exchange on Sat. evening so that if you want to make it at retreat, you may.
Once again this year, I will have to miss out on the fun on Saturday in order be at the Playhouse with the ACT II guild but I leave you in Karen and Claudia's capable hands.
