Omaha Hospice Project

Hospice House Sew-In
Pictures

Over 25 quilters from the Omaha Quilters' Guild participated at the Wild Oats Market for the first sew-in for the Josie Harper Residence, Hospice House. There were mounds of fabric strips, beautiful blocks, the hum of sewing machines, excited chatter and massages for all. What a wonderful day for not only the quilters but for the Hospice House. Gary George, Executive Director of Hospice House was on hand to witness the sew-in and personally thank each and every quilter. Wild Oats provided lunch, snacks and a great place to sew in their café overlooking the store. The Omaha School of Massage Therapy provided free hand, neck and back massages for all attendees. Later in the afternoon, Channel 7 News arrived to shoot footage and interviews for the Saturday Night 10 O’clock News. The day was absolutely heartwarming and rewarding. A big thanks and much appreciation for all who unselfishly gave their Saturday to sew for such a worthy project. For those who were not able to attend, there will be another sew-in at the Hospice itself in April and that date will be announced shortly. There will be a special Show and Tell of tops completed at any stage at March’s guild meeting.
