July 18-19, 2008 Iowa Quilters Guild annual Quilt Show, Sewing Fields of Quilts

All are welcome! We'll auction more than 300 beautiful quilts, plus enjoy an array of great family activities!

For the first time ever, all 300+ quilts, garments, dolls, and accessories in the 2008 traveling collection of the Hoffman Challenge® will be displayed in one venue, including all 37 award winners. Please visit www.hoffmanchallenge.com for more information!
This exhibit will showcase antique, traditional and contemporary quilts, dolls, clothing items, and other needle art incorporating a wide array of techniques. The show will also have vendors, demonstrations, classes, and door prizes. Featured artist is Christine Dabbs,  who will also be teaching a 2 day post show workshop. Special guest artists Melody Randal, Cookie Warner, Louisa Smith, Cindy Brick, Sara Brown and David Taylor.

Two Day Stumpwork Class with Christine Dabbs
Christine will be teaching a two day seminar on Stumpwork, the art of raised and textured embroidery. This class will feature extensive demonstration (projected on a screen for easier viewing) and there will be some hands on practice of basic techniques like couched tree trunks, needle woven leaves, silk wrapped beads, etc.

Christine is a widely known and highly respected instructor/author who rarely teaches, we are confident that this class will fill quickly, so please get your registration in early.
Cost:  $95 for both days, please make checks payable to Christine Dabbs.  A kit with basic supplies and fibers will be available for purchase
