April 19 ►Thayer County Quilt Guild will hold a china luncheon and bed turning on April 19 at the Ag Hall in Deshler, NE. Viewing the tables will begin at 11 am. Lunch will be at 12 pm with the bed turning after lunch. For the bed turning we will have a bed on the stage with quilts layered on the bed. The quilts will be taken off one by one to show and share their stories. Tickets must be purchased prior to the event and can be purchased from Dixie Heinrichs at 402-364- 2483 or Brenda Kerns at 402-768-7212. Our raffle quilt will be given away at this time also.

Plan your day while shop hopping to include our china luncheon and bed turning in your schedule. Hope to see some of you in Deshler.

June 9, 2008 ►Paula Nadelstern will be presenting her "Kaleidoscopes and Quilts" lecture Monday, June 9, at 7 p.m.

Hardin Hall Auditorium -- 33rd & Holdrege Streets (former Kellogg Center across the street from the Quilt Museum) Lincoln, Nebraska

The lecture is sponsored by the Japan Handicraft Instructor's Association, the Lincoln Quilters Guild and the International Quilt Study Center & Museum.

It is free and open to the public.

Over 800 quilts will be hung, more than 60 vendors in the Merchants’ Mall, Ongoing Demos, Charity Quilt Making and also exhibits by fiber artists. Linda McCuean, MQA certified judge will be available for entries in the judged quilt portion. A Mini Quilt Auction will be help on Saturday June 21. There will also be a beautiful Opportunity Quilt.
Tickets are $10.00 for one day or $15.00 for all three days.
No children under six or strollers allowed.

The Simple Scrappy Charming Quilt can be done with fabric scraps, charm packets, etc. The project can be designed for beginner quilters or can be more advanced for those with more experience.
Accomodations & Cost
This retreat will be in The Swanson Retreat Center. This facility features oversized sleeping rooms with two queen beds, a restroom, desk, television, telephone, internet access, and so much more.

      $165 per person (triple occupancy)
