The Omaha Quilters' Guild has an ongoing effort to support many local and regional charitable organizations. In the past, we have contributed time, effort, and monies to the Children's Hospital Bazaar, NETV fund raiser auctions, Bergan Adult and Child Day Care Centers, Western Heritable Museum, Ronald McDonald House, The Omaha and Denver Hospice House projects, Susan G. Komen Foundation and many other organizations.

Quilts for a Cause has donated a significant amount of cash to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer research.  The "Tickled Pink" Committee is to be commended for the huge effort on behalf of this organization.  They organized 2 Quilt Shows at River City Roundup and 2 River Boat Cruises and their marketing efforts included entertainment at the Guild Meetings.  Who could forget "946 Creative Ways to use the Bra" and the "TuTu Much" skits?  We never will.

Individuals in our guild have created and donated quilts to hang in Children's Hospital in Omaha and at the Shriners Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota, contributing also to the perception as quilts as art and meant to be in public spaces, as well as raising money as in the example of the Children's Hospital quilt which raised over $200,000 for the hospital.
